"Roman Coins on
DVD" is an archive of over 11,000 Roman coins, reproduced on both sides with full
colours and high resolution pictures, arranged through a
graphical database with powerful search capabilities, for a
total of over 22,000 images.
"Roman Coins on DVD" is not an exhaustive and comprehensive
catalogue of every Roman coins; no books or catalogues exist
with a full record of all issued Roman coins.
You can easily select
the coins you want to see. You can choose the desired
emperor's name or the metal of the coins; furthermore, the
powerful search engine let you select the coins matching a
particular search criteria. For instance you can browse
through the coins with the abbreviation "COS
III" AND a "horse"
or through the coins with the abbreviation "PIUS
FEL AUG" OR "VICTORIA
AUG".
Look at the
"Pictures" section and judge! You can download the
pictures of the first page and decide whether the quality is
outstanding or not. All the imagines on the DVD have a
resolution of 1200x1200 pixels.
This program doesn't require any
particular PC. It was probably developed on a computer much
slower than yours. The only thing required is your graphic
card set at 800 x 600 pixels resolution (or higher) with at
least 65536 colors.
